Great Paintball War of 2006

The Great Paintball War of 2006 lived up to all expectations and ended with an intense firefight never before matched at the famous Devils Den war camp. In addition Ryan The Flyin Barron proved to be the most dominant force in Camp Moosehead paintball history, and was unanimously chosen for the coveted Top Soldier award.

It all started out with a challenge by General Atomic Tom to comprise an army of warriors from his Ellwood City clan including Steve, Doug, Dave, and Nick. Then Willie Rattlesnake Johnson defected to the Green Army.

General F. Von Willi was once again the leader of the undefeated Blue Army. At his side were Bart Von Roberts, Ryan The Flyin Barron, Tony The Gatlin Godfather, Billy Ray Virus, Machine Gun Mike, and Daniel.

The first round started off with the Blue Army Sending its Delta Force (Virus, Mike and Daniel) on an end around attack. Left behind to guard the flag at Rebil Hill was Tony, Roberts, Von Willi and Ryan. The Green Army sent an attack from the north with Nick and Doug, and an attack from the south with Jeff and Steve. Dave and Tom stayed back to defend their base. The Blue Team's Delta Force was met early on by Jeff and Steve and engaged in a battle at the pines. Mike was taken out, and Jeff and Steve moved on to the Blue Army base. The Delta Force lacked leadership, and more or less wandered aimlessly about the forest for the remaining 1.5 hours of the war. Meanwhile, Ryan faced a large-scale attack from the north at Bloody Lake. Fierce fighting went on for an extended period of time. Finally, F. Von Willi moved from his southern position and joined Ryan at Bloody Lake. By that time, Ryan had taken his first victim. As the fighting continued, Ryan made two more kills as Von Willi scored one kill.

With two thirds of the Green Army headed to the hospital at Camp Moosehead, Von Willi made the decision to head for the Devils Den and asked Roberts to join the attack. It was at this time that Roberts notified the general that Steve had single handedly stolen the blue flag. This increased the urgency in getting to Devils Den, so the newly formulated Gangster Trio made a high speed rush to the green base. With only light resistance, the Gangster Trio captured the green flag and Von Willi headed off to Rebel Hill. Roberts and Ryan stayed and waited for the Green Army to arrive with the blue flag. Upon arriving at Rebel Hill, Von Willi hung the green flag and instructed The Gatlin Godfather to stand watch. Von Willi then headed back to Devils Den in search of the blue flag. As Von Willi approached Devils Den, gunfire rang out. Roberts assisted and Ryan made the kill. The Gangster Trio then began the trip back to Rebel Hill. With only 15 minutes left in the round, the Blue Army was only 50 feet from its destination. As Von Willi attempted to enter the base, he was ambushed by a well-armed Green Army. Von Willi and Ryan continued to battle while Von Roberts kept the blue flag at a safe distance. Von Willi was pinned behind a tree and eventually his gun was hit. As he tried to get setup with his slingshot, he took a hit to is right pinky finger. Now will less than 10 minutes to go, Ryan continued to battle five members of the green army. Time ran out and the round was called a draw.

In the second round of the war the Green Army drafted Bambi as their seventh member. Machine Gun Mike decided not to re-enter the battle field so General F. Von Willi aquired long time Green Army Standout, The Mooseman, to join his Blue Army. The Blue Army would now defend Devils Den and the Green Army would be based at Rebel Hill.

F. Von Willi revised his Delta Force to Include The Galtlin Godfather, Daniel, and Ryan. However he employed a defensive strategy that kept all troops at the Blue Army base. Meanwhile at Rebel Hill, the Green Army was also in a defensive position. For over an hour there was no sound of gunfire. At nearly the same time, Ryan who was now the leader of the Blue Delta Force, began a movement to the North of Rebel Hill, and The Green Army sent Bambi, Steve and Dave on a southern mission to Devils Den. Twenty minutes later, Nick and Doug were dispatched to the north. Still there was no activity until 15 to 20 minutes left in the round. Then Moose noticed movement northeast of the blue base, but before he could make a positive ID, a barrage of gunfire rang out. Moose, and Von Willi were pinned and unable to move. Von Roberts moved in to assist and Billy Ray Virus watched. As the war intensified, additional troops moved in. Now three separate groups were engaged, but there was no apparent coordination. As a result, both Armies were confused about the identity of the new troops. Bambi ended up being shot by friendly fire, and the Blue Army ceased fire for a time until they realized that all the troops were enemy forces. Virus began to flank to the east giving Von Willi a chance to reposition. With the time counting down, Moose and Von Willi were receiving more gunfire than they could withstand. But then, Ryan and the Delta Force Moved in. Gunfire rang out it all directions. Ryan managed four kills and the round ended. Once again a draw was declared.

With no clear winner, the Blue Army was given the decision due to number of kills.
